How to use it

Answer as you are, not as you wish to be.

Rate each statement from “Not at all like me” to “Very much like me.” Complete all 45, add the five responses for each adult pattern, and read the descriptions that match your strongest scores.

Close scores are an invitation to read more than one description. Don’t force certainty. Use the scoring key and reflection prompts in the download at your own pace.

Keep your responses private. We do not collect instrument answers or host an assessment form.

A firm boundary

The instrument is yours.

It must never be given to a child or teenager, or used by an adult to assign a child a type. Your child benefits from your self-awareness.

The honest evidence statement

Useful reflection. Real limits.

The Enneagram has “mixed evidence of reliability and validity.” Hook et al. (2021), Journal of Clinical Psychology, reviewed the literature in The Enneagram: A systematic review of the literature and directions for future research (doi: 10.1002/jclp.23097).

This is a framework for reflection, not validated science, a diagnosis, or a tool for making decisions about other people. If you need mental-health care, seek a qualified professional.

The original product text cites 2020, its online publication year. The journal issue is dated 2021. We preserve the source text in the download.
